Health & Literacy Programs
The Gathering Place is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing family literacy, health awareness and economic development programs to the Eastern Agency of the Navajo Nation.

providing family literacy and health awareness

These programs are offered by local women who are peers of the clients and who share their language, culture and reality, thereby bringing compassion and insight into the learning experience.

The Navajo Co-op Store
Our Navajo Co-op sells southwest art crafted by Native Americans as a way to promote local artists and provide income to our health and literacy programs. The Co-op sells a wide variety of jewelry, pottery, rugs, and kachinas purchased from local Native American artists. We take special pride in our fancy Navajo Fancy Bears which have become regular prize winners in the Gallup Indian Ceremonial.
